There’s something undeniably magical about a mountain wedding in Estes Park—especially in April, when the weather keeps you on your toes. M&J’s wedding at Della Terra Mountain Chateau, now operated by Wedgewood Weddings, was a perfect example of Colorado’s unpredictable beauty. Although snow was in the forecast, we lucked out with just a soft flutter of snowflakes during their portraits.
As a Colorado wedding video and photo team, we love how each season here brings its own charm.
A First Look with a Dusting of Snow
M&J opted for a first look, and it was one of the sweetest parts of the day. Tucked into the trees with snowflakes gently falling around them, the moment felt peaceful, cinematic, and completely theirs. April in the mountains can be unpredictable, but on this day, it delivered just the right amount of magic.
Estes Park Wedding Ceremony with a Mountain View
The ceremony took place at Della Terra’s amphitheater-style outdoor space, showcasing the surrounding peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s one of the most stunning ceremony spots for any Estes Park wedding, especially if you want that wide-open mountain view.
As far as venues go, Della Terra has a lot of positives to consider:
- It’s now part of the Wedgewood Weddings family. Couples can opt into their all-inclusive packages—making planning more streamlined.
- The staff is professional, helpful, and responsive.
- The large, terraced ceremony space is visually stunning.
- The architecture gives off a Tuscan mountain lodge vibe—rustic but elegant, cozy yet grand.
One consideration: because the venue is built on a hillside, there are quite a few stairs, which can be tricky for guests with limited mobility.
A Warm, Joyful Reception
Following the ceremony, M & J’s guests were welcomed into the Chateau’s reception space.
Their cake from Wellsprings was both beautiful, and their florals by Joyful Poppy tied everything together with seasonal, soft-toned blooms.
